PROSPERITY FROM THE LORD
Please read Genesis 39:3-6.
When we read this passage we must stop and think about Joseph. At this point in Joseph's life he was a slave that belonged to Potiphar. We often forget that Joseph is still a slave in this setting because of the prosperity that the Lord has given to him. Joseph was so prosperous that Potiphar made him an overseer over everything that belonged to him. The Lord blessed Joseph so much that Potiphar did not even know everything that went on because Joseph took care of it all.
Joseph was so well favored because of the Lord. The Lord gave him favor even though he was still a slave. I believe that Joseph was a man of integrity. I do not believe that God would bless a man that does not have integrity. Remember that Joseph also gave the glory to God (as we saw in the last devotion: "Is The Lord Seen Through Your Life?"). God blessed him for his character.
When we apply this to our life we must ask ourselves if we are like Joseph. Do you have integrity? What about on the job? What about in the church house? Is God blessing you? Examine your life and see what areas need some work. Above all, be a person of integrity. How would you like to have PROSPERITY FROM THE LORD?
